Who it is for

The ordinary end of the day.

After a training session, after a long shift, after a day in the garden. Muscle Mint is made for everyday massage and the cool, fresh feeling of peppermint and eucalyptus on skin.

Zolene created it after more than fifteen years as a massage therapist, and it is used in her practice. Smooth a small amount into the skin and let it settle.

What is Muscle Mint, and what is it not?

Muscle Mint is a peppermint and eucalyptus lotion in a sunflower oil base, made in Larne, Northern Ireland. It is a personal care product for everyday massage.

It is a CPNP registered cosmetic. It is not a medicine, it is not licensed as one, and we make no medical claims for it. What it does is straightforward: on skin, menthol and eucalyptol read as a cool, fresh tingle.

Who should check first

Have you just hurt yourself?

Then this is a first aid situation, and Muscle Mint has no part in it. A fresh injury needs proper care, not a massage cream.

Check the NHS guidance on first aid, and speak to a pharmacist, GP or physiotherapist. They will tell you what to do and when. We will not, because it is not our place to.

Breathing

Do you have asthma or another chest condition?

Check with your GP before you use it. Menthol has a strong vapour, and for some people with asthma or other chest conditions that vapour can be a trigger.

This is not something we can judge for you. Your GP knows your history and can tell you whether it suits you.

Pregnancy and feeding

Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?

Speak to your midwife, GP or pharmacist before using it. That is the right conversation to have about any product you put on your skin during pregnancy or while feeding.

Take the bottle with you, or show them the ingredients from the ingredients page, so they can see exactly what is in it.

Skin

Is your skin sensitive, cracked or broken?

Be careful, and patch test first. Put a small amount on your inner forearm and wait 24 hours before using it more widely.

If you are prone to dermatitis or your skin is cracked or open anywhere, that is a conversation for a pharmacist or GP before you start. Avoid your eyes, nose and mucous membranes, as stated on the label, along with broken or damaged skin and skin that has just been shaved.

The full label wording is reproduced on the directions and safety page.

If you are unsure

Ask someone who knows your history.

A pharmacist, GP or physiotherapist can tell you whether Muscle Mint suits you. Nothing on this page is a substitute for professional advice, and we would always rather you asked.
