What is the 100 ml liquids rule?
At most UK airports you cannot take a liquid container larger than 100 ml through security in hand luggage, and creams, lotions and oils count as liquids. Every container has to fit in a single transparent resealable bag that holds no more than a litre and measures about 20 cm by 20 cm, with one bag per person.
Some airports have newer scanners and allow containers that hold up to 2 litres, so the limit depends on where you fly from. The rules can change at short notice. Read the official GOV.UK guidance on hand luggage liquids and check your own airport's advice before you pack.
If a bottle is over the limit for your airport, pack it in your hold luggage instead.
